Pink Mission #5 New Years Eve 31st Dec 2011

Had another 121 in Muay Thai at 12.30 today with a Trainer called Bill. It was hot and hard work. No footage im afraid as was there on my own. I did come across an awesome female boxer and BJJ coach who were just over for a few days chilling. They were training each other in the open mat area. In the evening we decided to just chill and have a nice meal in our local resturant Mamas http://www.forest-bungalows.com/ then come back and sit by the pool to watch the fireworks. Again i have more photos but on my other camera and no lead ;(

Happy New Year Everyone xxxxx

Pink Mission #5 Friday 30th Dec 2011

Boxing we had fun we had to throw gloves at each other and make sure we didn't get hit in the body or we were tagged. Lol we also used foam stick sponges to slip left and right by whacking each other on the shoulders ... its pretty quiet as people chilling ready for new years!

Pink Mission #5 24th December 2011

Xmas Eve - Today I had my 1st 121 with a Trainer at Tiger Muay Thai ... His name is Aon he was a world champion boxer as well as a Muay Thai Fighter. Here is some footage of me training with him.

Xmas Eve pm we all gathered at TMT camp for the BBQ beatdown 44 fight show. Tickets were 500baht on the night and included food as well as free drinks. The Thai fights were really good although they were putting trainers against trainers, The ladys Thai fight was the best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwz8Nqwq16o  there was also one boxing match where the lad had only trained for a week in body fit and a couple of boxing sessions he went against his own trainer and was knocked out in the first minute... Don't think he will bother paying for 121's with him again and this to me was a bit poor of Tiger to put on such a mismatch! There were a couple of MMA fights in the cage with some guys who'd only been training a few months. First one went all three rounds and the 2nd one was KO in round 2.

Here's some photos and footage from the night where i met up with some new friends too :0) .... Damn cant get from other camera so gonna have to wait for this one!

Pink Mission #5 Friday 23rd Dec 2011

Today I joined the boxing class at Phuket top team as there coach silviu has a good reputation he is Russian and after watching some if his classes realised he is so technical that this is where I was going to learn properly .... Here's some info http://www.phukettopteam.com/silviu-dorian-vulc/

After this hard class I then trained in BJJ again, I felt a bit sick as I warmed down and then did another warm up ... Not good ;0) again the BJJ class was awesome with Silvio. He was leaving for 1 week to go home to his wife and 2 cats in Hong kong and returning 2nd Jan.

Pink Mission #5 Thursday 22nd Dec

8am MuayThai class worked on Clinching again ... This was every Tuesday and Thursday am. Today in the 3 rounds of clinching sparring I was put with all the heavy weight ladies ... I would say the lightest was about 75kg and the two others were much bigger lol. To begin with they were difficult to handle butafter about 30 Secs they get puffed out so it was easy for me to get my little arms in and bring on the knees, plus I liked using my technique from Justin pull them down step back and round - followed with a knee instead of a kick. :0)

Pink Mission #5 Tuesday 20th December 2011

8am Muay Thai class again until 10.30pm ate food slept and rested before trying out the MMA class at 4pm which on Tuesdays and Thursdays was Wrestling.  The MMA girl Tania was there so we worked together ... She had a lot of wrestling experience and was really good at shooting for single leg takedowns. Enjoy wrestling with her but i know she was only toying with me :) Tania won 1st place at Grapplers Quest ... We are quite alike both live training and overtrain - she will do well in an MMA fight. To which end the coach asked if we would fight in the cage for BBQ beatdown on this coming Saturday. Unlucky for Tania she had a knee injury... Lucky for me lol. If it was my last week here I would have gone for it but I wanted to stat injury proof for my next 6 weeks.

Pink Mission #5 Monday 19th Dec

After getting permission from my BJJ Coach Raphael Dos Santos I rocked up with my Gi for a BJJ session at Pucket Top Team... The PTT coach is professor Silvio Braga ... Here's a link for more info http://www.silviobraga.com/ . The classes are held in doors on clean thick mats with Aircon - much better than Tiger. Everyone was really friendly and I got to roll with the coach ... He's very much like Raphael, super speedy, slick with moves and a great caring personality for his students. Lots of drills and working on butterfly. I also met a lovely lady who started BJJ a couple of weeks ago with the classes her name is Sharon. Already she is quite good and I think that's also down to having private session every other day with Silvio too. Hoping we stay friends. 4pm-6.30pm Muay thai session at Tiger Although in the beginners class we had the opportunity of a seminar from a Muay Thai champion of 37 years ago

Pink Mission #5 Sunday 18th December 2011

Had a massive breakfast at Mamas for 80baht (£1.60)
Fruit platter (Watermelon and Pineapple)
Scrambled eggs and bacon
Juice
Coffee
Toast & Jam (this I gave to Andrew)

Today it was raining but still very humid, with the jet lag you are tired one minute and awake the next... heres some footage of the pool

In the afternoon got fidgety so I went for a run... I found another camp... Phuket Top Team http://www.phukettopteam.com/  ... It looked awesome so found timetable online.

Pink Mission #5 Saturday 17th Dec

Today I purchased some new pink gloves and White Shin Guards (approx £60 for both) Tiger had closed for weekend to have a Xmas party so no classes. This gave us time to recover from Fridays sessions and the Jetlag... Andrew is suffering badly pacing the room at 4am is driving me insane. We found a Pharmacy and I had to go hardcore and go for b12 injections ... These are useful for energy and regenerating red bloods cells and burn fat. I was using timed release capsules in the UK ... Try them they do make a difference if you do a lot of training. Food over here us pretty much perfect for body builders and fighters ... Chicken, rice, fish, salad, fruit platters and protein drinks made with bananas and ice cream - my favourite meal so far is chicken with spring onions and cashew nuts - :0)

Pink Mission #5 16th December 2011

First day of training at Tiger Muay Thai started at 8am ... I went in the beginners class and Andy started in the Intermediates...They made us run for 25mins then do lots of other exercises including 30 Burpees to finish off. They then get you to put your wraps on ... A Trainer will do them for you too! Firstly we put gloves on and do combinations with no power, this lasts for about 20mins. Next up we had to split into groups so we do 3x3mins on Pads with pad man but 10 Press ups after each round and then rest for the remainder of the 1min.
Then 3 rounds on bags
Again 10 push ups in between.
Then 3x3 sparring rounds
With yes... 10 Push ups at end of every round.

To finish of we had to do 200 Teep kicks on the bag, followed by 3mins of fast knees on the bag

100 push ups
200 sit ups
stretch off end of session

Our head coach is Dand and he carrys a bamboo stick with him ...

In the afternoon we chilled by the pool had some lunch at Mamas restaurant.
Back in our apartment we only have one mirror which is in the bathroom- Andrew keeps going in there to check himself out and obviously do his shadow boxing. Lol

4pm went to the western boxing class which was running next to the MMA class... I got pulled out of the class "you over there spar" I was put with this lady who looked like a super scary Mma fighter... I was cacking it lol. It was good! she kept getting me with her jab lol but that was what I was here to work on.
It was good fun to get back into the boxing again anyway.   I got a snap of Andy in the warm down ...

I turned up at 7.30pm for the BJJ class in my gi as on the website it's says NoGi is optional ... The coach that was teaching just said ah no we are not teaching gi so you'll have to put up with no gi. I started the class with all the traditional warm ups then we had to do 30 take downs each - the mats were so thin I just thought after all the training hrs followed by being thrown by a novice Russian in NoGi I was going to get an injury. After some technique I decided to leave the class and apologised but I would come back another night with no gi clothing - it was so hot my gi was soaked anyway!

Pink Mission #5 15th December 2011

Arrive in Phuket and get taxi to our accommodation ... We are staying at Happy Cottage which is a 8min walk to Tiger Muay Thai.

We walked around Tiger Muay Thai at 4pm so we could check out the classes in action before we signed up. All of the classes seem to be 2.5hrs long and run in the mornings and some again in the evenings.

Conditioning is a large part of the training here and it seems some people come to use a boot camp for losing weight.

Pink Misson #5 Trip to Thailand 14th December 2011

Andy and I boarded our flight from Stanstead to Dussledorf ... It looked like one of those polystyrene planes and both of us had a face of panic... The flight was only 1hr and 15mins to catch the connected flight to Munich. We had a 2 hr wait and that was it 11hrs approx to arrive at Phuket.
Air Berlin were fantastic to fly with we were fed and watered so many times, they stuck on a couple of good movies so the time didn't drag too much.

Pink Mission #4 - Hereford Open 10

Had an absolutely awesome day out with our club Project Mayhem MMA at the Hereford Open #10

Five of our ladies competed and 4 of them for the first time...

In order to calm the pre-fight nerves there was some really nice BJJ hair prep going on ....

They all did extremely well considering they have not been training very long and the whole competition experience was totally new to them.   Very Proud of everyone :0D

I'd like to say a BIG well done! to my Saturday sparring partner Kat Rix who trains at our ladies class and Exeter BJJ .. she had 3 fights and 3 submissions... go Katapillar!

For Pink Machine it was a day to remember as it was the first time I had fun and did not get nervous(normally i would feel that i had about 102 fights before I'd got on the mats lol) ... I held my own with both Vanessa English (Bronze world Medallist 2011) and Rebecca Hill (British champion 2011) although they won on points I was really pleased with my defence performance and I had enjoyed the whole experience... I want to fight both them as much as possible now... here we are on the podium.

Seymour Yang (Meerkatsu), had designed the backdrop banner and the T Shirts for the competition, if you are ever looking for a brilliant artist with a difference to design your logos/posters etc, he is your man.

... these were awesome and I was glad to get my freebie for entering promptly.

Next event is February 19th March 2012

White Collar Boxing 11th November 2011 - The Boston Dome London

Hmmm.......I can honestly say that this was the most significant night and event of my life (apart from having my son Tyrian).  With only 9 days notice I took the opportunity to fight another female boxer at the Boston Dome, London in a White Collar boxing event hosted by Tim Woolgar.  My opponent had a height and weight advantage and had been boxing for 1 year (2 nights per week).  Despite the fact I had only been boxing since February this year  I wanted nothing more than to give it a go!

At approximately 8.30pm I watched some guys fighting in the ring,  it suddenly dawned on me i was going to get hit in the face and hard,  I did have a moment where I was planning my exit route but as soon as I heard the sound of my entry music and stepped out of the corner room that was it... Lucy Guy (Islington Boxing Club) and myself (Project Mayhem) went pretty full on in the ring for 3 x 90 second rounds.  I lost on points but I didn't care... I never expected to win I just wanted the experience of sparring hard with another female.  This was the most awesome rollar coaster road ever!  Now looking forward to my Chess Boxing Match in March 2012.
